The Summit brought together world leaders, policymakers and advocates from around the world to address urgent human rights and reproductive health issues and resulted in more than 400 commitments, issued by the leaders and organizations present, to support the end of harmful practices including child marriage and female genital mutilation.
Huge thanks to the great Leyla Hussein, pictured here (R), a psychotherapist and FGM survivor advocate, who generously took the time to meet with the girls, inspiring them and encouraging them on their path of continued healing and activism. Thank you as well to Elizabeth G Pratt, TYTW board secretary, who helped get the girls ready for their big moment.
Most importantly, thank you to Wanjiru Wahome and Josephine Kulea from the Samburu Girls Foundation, for your tireless, life-changing work of rescuing these girls and giving yourselves to support them in every way. It's an honor to partner with so many amazing people on this journey.
